Here is Andre Woodson record so far in the preseason: 12/27, 140 yards, 1 INT and 1 rush for 3 yards. And Carr has thrown 20/33, 263 yards, 3 TDs and ran 4 times for 37 yards (each time for a first down). Last night he had a huge game and came from behind scoring 2 TDs with 5 minutes left in the game, the were not able to convert for 2 points though. Last year he passed for 367 yards during preseason with 3 TDs and almost 70% of completion. During the regular season he took few stats and ended the season with 75% of completion (9/12) for 115 yards and 2 TDs. I mean each Coughlin decided to have him under center he did not mess up, he scored. The guys know the offense, is capable making playing with his arm and legs. I'd rather have him taking snaps if Manning was down instead of a guy who didn't spend the training camp with the team and is still learning the offense. mmm that was a statement you could make couple of years ago. Why would Reese lose a draft pick on a backup that proabably won't be used during the year? David did not have the perfect camp but he was just incredible on the field againts Carolina. He played poorly against the Bears, yes but he wasn't alone, the whole team sucked. Plus you can't just bring a QB in a team like that and hope that everything will fit. He doesn't know the system, he doesn't know the players... if Manning goes down on the first game and Thigpen takes the snap it's going to be a big mess (look at Favre for his first preseason game). So if I were Reese (and to me it's likely to happen that way) I'd rather keep Carr as a backup since he knows the system and has already shown what he can do for the Giants. with all due respect that’s just stupid.
