Jacksonville Makes an Offer for KC QB Tyler Thigpen
Posted by Matt Loede under Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs

There’s been rumors that the Chiefs are interested in moving QB Tyler Thigpen, as the starting job is going to go without a doubt to Matt Cassel. With that, it will be interesting to see what team steps up and makes an offer for Thigpen.
For now, one team that has an interest in the Jags, as today’s Florida Times-Union reports that the Jags have made an offer for Thigpen:
The Jaguars apparently aren’t waiting to scour the waiver wire when the last cuts are made to find a new backup quarterback. According to the NFL Network, they’ve offered a fifth-round pick to Kansas City for quarterback Tyler Thigpen, but the Chiefs want a higher pick. Jaguars general manager Gene Smith did not return an e-mail requesting a comment on the report. The Jaguars might be trying to replace veteran backup Todd Bouman, who had several passes batted down against Tampa Bay on Saturday night.
Thigpen showed last season he has some solid skills, and he’d be an asset as a backup QB to any team. For now, the Chiefs will go with Cassel and Brodie Croyle as the teams two QB’s.
