Seems that the Browns do not want the distraction of Josh Cribbs not showing up to training camp over their heads, as reports are the team and Cribbs had another conference call Friday about his contract situation. NFL Network reports on the talks:
For the second time this week, officials from the Cleveland Browns and representatives for Pro Bowl return specialist Josh Cribbs held a conference call to discuss the player’s situation. The sides held their second conversation Thursday, according to a source, chatting for roughly three hours. The Browns and Cribbs are still scheduled to hold face-to-face meetings with the player, who has contributed to the team’s Wildcat formation as a quarterback and worked as a receiver and a defensive back.
Cribbs has been looking to re-do his deal, and wants something like what the Bears Devin Hester got last season. While he might not really be in line for a deal since he just signed one two years ago, it looks like the Browns might crack and give him something before camp starts.
