Cowboys Voted by America as the NFL’s Most Hated Team
Posted by Matt Loede under Dallas Cowboys, Media, Off the Cuff

It seems that the sports nation (according to ESPN that is) has spoken when it comes to the teams that NFL fans across America love to hate. Mike Sando of ESPN wrote today about a poll that some 870,000 readers of ESPN took on 25 topics, and one of great interest was the amount that fans do not certain teams.
In their poll, the teams that got the most votes for being hated went as followed:
Dallas Cowboys (36 percent)
New England Patriots (34 percent)
Pittsburgh Steelers (12 percent)
New York Giants (9 percent)
Oakland Raiders (9 percent)
So it looks like Dallas’ nickname of being known as “America’s Team” is out the window with these results. The Pats being second is not a big shock with their success and the whole “spygate” saga of a few years ago.
Pittsburgh has such a rabid following, possibly the best in the league, so that also makes them a target for not being liked. The Giants are a New York team, so they have a lot of lovers and haters, but maybe the one that is the most shocking is Oakland. They have not been a contender since their last Super Bowl where they were bombed by the Buccaneers in 2003, but in many fans eyes, they are the team that many still love to hate.
