Considering that the Ravens might not have Mason healthy by the season opener, it seems like a no brainer to at least try pressing the Cardinals for Boldin or sliding a one year, couple million dollar contract to Marvin Harrison, so it could at least solidify the Raven's receivers until a promising rookie could be picked up in next year's draft. The thought of vying for Marshall is absurd, and Burress would be almost as bad a poison for the Ravens. It just pains to think (being a fan) that arguably the most complete team position wise in the NFL lacks a dominant, healthy receiver, which isn't taking a shot at Mason, but he can't stay consistent forever... and with all due respect to the unproven Clayton and Williams, the Ravens without Mason is most likely a death sentence for the passing game, which would be unfortunate with such a talented, young quarterback. One can only hope that T-Sugg's contract will still enable Baltimore to fix this problem...

As far as acquisitions go, Marshall is a no-brainer in the "NO" category. Too expensive, both in dollars and in the draft picks it would take to get him, and he's too unpredictable, with his history of legal troubles. Some may argue that off-the-field tutelage from Ray Lewis, military drilling from Harbaugh, and an overall change of scenery would change his behavior. But that's all speculation.

With Boldin, there's no speculation. You know he's going to be a team player who plays hard and is tough as nails. You also know he will be slightly less expensive to acquire (although perhaps not to resign).

The choice is clear: its either Boldin or status quo. The Ravens can win without another WR, but adding Boldin would potentially change the outlook for the AFC north for the next few years.

I think the ravens for once need to go get their playmaker, Marshall is an investment and is worth the draft picks they'd spend to get him. Plus he's only 25!
