In sad and shocking news on this 4th of July, various media sources are reporting that former Titans QB and NFL co-MVP Steve McNair is dead after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.

News Channel5.com in Nashville had the following on the discovery of McNair: The incident happened near 2nd South & Lea Ave. Police said it looked like a double homicide. A female victim was also found dead.

Police report that McNair, who played 11 seasons with the Titans, suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

McNair played 13 seasons in the NFL, the last two with the Baltimore Ravens. He retired after the 2007 season. He led the Titans to the Super Bowl in the 1999 season, losing to the St.Louis Rams. In his career, he had a 82.8 QB rating with 174 TD passes and 119 interceptions.
