this is just goes to show how the nfl is the ultimate what-have-u-done-for-me-lately. where else can a man miss a season due to injury and then be cast aside as a has-been? if anyone can bounce back and fully recover,it's this man.he has displayed a total commitment and strong work ethic ever since he was drafted.i know the cynics will point the scrape with the ped's,but what about the fact that after he sat out his suspension he went on to lead the league in sacks?he should have been defensive player of the year, but jason taylor whined publicly about him and lobbied for the award for himself.talk about weak!in this culture of overexaggeration about players and their genes, shawne merriman is truly a genetic freak.i am not sucking up to him or being biased toward him, just recognizing what is in our midst.i am simply a fan of the game of football.there are other athletes who fit this mold.some i like,(julius peppers, demarcus ware, the late sean taylor),others i dispise(randy moss)but give credit when credit is due.when guys like these rebound and do phenomenally physical things,i am not surprised.
