The Chiefs Are One Bad Team on Madden 2010

If you are a hardcore Madden player or more of a recreational player and you play with the Chiefs prepare to be disappointed. The Chiefs have their worst team overall since the game came out and have absolutely no offensive or defensive weapons leaving the Chiefs ill-equipped to match up with other teams.

The Chiefs are clearly getting punished by the game creators for winning only six games over the past two seasons and are not being judged player by player. Larry Johnson lost his status as a 90 overall or better in a year where he averaged 4.5 yards a carry and his backup Jamal Charles was pushed down from a 75 to a 68 after a rookie season in which he had a 100 yard game rushing and receiving.

Some of the ratings were complete head scratchers Matt Cassel is a 83 overall after tossing 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions but Tyler Thigpen is a 66 after throwing for 18 scores and 12 picks? How is Bobby Engram seven points better than Mark Bradley when Bradley scored three more touchdowns than Engram and averaged four more yards per catch?

Maurice Leggett may have got the worst deal of all he is rated as a 59 overall after coming from being a un drafted free agent to scoring in consecutive weeks and winning special teams player of the week honors. Bottom line if you play with the Chiefs you better hope they improve greatly sometime between now and the first roster update.

    thats makes me soo mad cuz ive got madden on the very first day its came out since 2004 and i only play with the chiefs..are you sure about this

    Maurice Leggett is going to show the Chiefs he needs to be starting! After his performance last year, that was just the begining, and that my friends is wassup.

    The roster update is in. Toomer was added in the second string (4th) spot. I have had good success with running the ball straight ahead. I don’ like when you run the draw, because the camera pulls back and down and the passing buttons get huge and stay in the way too long. Slants, and ins are your best friend. Even though Tony is gone, Cottam plays pretty well. Sean Ryan drops the ball too much. Sending Johnson and Smith into the flats is a great way to take advantage of check down options when the D covers well. I like how the players don’t run out of bounds on routes so much like last year.

    Saw my first bug. On a field goal, the ball hit the upright. Commentator called it too. The ball even fell back into the playing field, but the FG counted. Too bad I wasn’t the one kicking it.

    Be positive. It is just going to take a lot more practice! Take the time in practice mode against a very good Defense. Choose your play, then hit “B” when the Defense pops up. Choose random play. A great play to practice is “Smash” find it under play type>standard pass>down a few in the middle. If you see the ROLB scrambling to get to the left side. Hike it immediately and Bowe “B” is open on the out slant. Lead him up and left. Check down options are LJ in the right flat with Cottom going up, top right. If you roll right you get a good look at the both of them. Hope that helps.
