The Texans today announced that they have inked kicker Kris Brown to a four-year, $10 million contract extension. He’s one of the better kickers in the league, and last season kicked for 124 points.

As part of the extension, he’ll get $2.5 million guaranteed. Brown connected on 29 of 33 field goals last year and made all 37 of his extra-point kicks as the Texans finished 8-8 for the second consecutive year.

Brown, who started his career in Pittsburgh and will enter his 8th year with the Texans in 2009, has hit for a career 231 of 294 field goals for 78.6 percent, and 304 of 310 extra points for 98.1 percent. Tex
