Every once in a while you have to tell someone close to you something that will be difficult for them to hear. I usually try to start those conversations with something like, “Now you know I love you.” I think it’s important for people to know you care before you tell them the truth. “Rams… now you know I luv you…”, but what the #@%^$% were you thinking when you finalized your WR roster? Your receivers are so obscure it was difficult to find stats on some of them.
First, let’s look at some receivers that were pretty good last year. Anquan Boldin had receptions totaling 1,038 yards, Hines Ward 1,043, Reggie Wayne had receptions of 1,145, and, umm Isaac Bruce 835.
Starting with the Rams “best of the best” last year Donnie Avery caught for 684 yrds. Then at #2 there is Brooks Foster who caught for 334 yards. Of course he was in college last year. After that… Burton caught for 172 yards and Stanley for 119. There are six other wide receivers on the roster with even more indistinct 2008 stats.
Ok, no surprise we don’t have the best receivers in the NFL. But I have to admit that I am a little shocked. If we expect to compete we will need more than one serviceable receiver (Avery). Rams, we luv you but… cut it out. We love that you are rebuilding the offensive line and we are grateful for having one of the best running backs in the NFL, but Marc Bulger absolutely needs some guys who can catch the ball.

The Rams should buster up some money and get Anquan Boldin. He would have super incentive to destroy the ‘Cards twice a year.
