The Fins today made a wise move, giving cornerback Will Allen a two-year extension that pays him $16.2 million. NFL.com broke the story earlier today:

Dolphins CB Will Allen signed a two-year, $16.2 million contract extension with the team, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. On his Twitter page, Rosenhaus said the deal includes $10 million in guaranteed money.

Allen joined the Dolphins in 2006 and has started in every game but one during his three seasons in Miami. He has 168 tackles, five interceptions and four sacks as a Dolphin.

Before coming to Miami, Allen spent five seasons with the Giants. He has 463 tackles, 13 interceptions and five sacks in his eight-year NFL career.

He has been a solid player in the Dolphins defense, and should continue to play at a high level, and now has security in his pocketbook as well with today’s announcement.
