The Browns have come to terms on a one-year deal with former Cardinals CB Rod Hood. The free-agent cornerback had been with the Cards the past two seasons after playing four seasons with the Eagles. The Cardinals released him in a cost-cutting move after their run to the Super Bowl.
Hood is a durable player, he’s started at least 14 games in every season except for the 2006, when he started ten. He had 40 tackles and one interception last season after registering a career-high five interceptions two returned for touchdowns in 2007.
He is expected to compete for a starting spot with the Browns, and if he does not grab a starting job, he’ll add depth to the secondary.
