George Wrighster is the newest member of the New York Giants, after signing a contract after the rookie mini-camp. The six year veteran tight end was nice enough to answer a few questions for GiantsGab and NFL Gridiron Gab!
1. Why did you decide to tryout with the Giants?
- I had visits with other teams, but just like the Giants, they were concerned with my injury history. Teams know I can play but I needed to show them I am healthy. The Giants are a great organization with a lot of tradition and a long history of winning. I felt it was a great opportunity for me to show my skills and be on a winning team.
2. How do you see yourself fitting into the offense?
- I see myself as an addition. I am a player who will make plays when given the opportunity. This is a championship caliber team and I will be another weapon in the arsenal.
3. What do you know about Tom Coughlin and his style of coaching?
- He is a man who lives by his principles and is very up front and direct. I like that because you always know where you stand.
4. What can Giants fans expect from you on a game-to-game basis?
- I will play hard every play, bring great energy, and make plays! I love football and more importantly I love to win!
5. What do you think about playing in the physical NFC East?
- It will be a new challenge because the teams in this conference are some of the most storied and successful franchises in football. In Jacksonville we were known for playing a very physical brand of football so I’m accoustomed to that
6. Is there anything you would like the Giants fans to know about you?
- I want them to know they have another winner on the team and anything else they wanna know they can learn from my blog, Tightend.blogspot.com
