Falcons First Round Pick DT Jerry Leaves Practice w/ Knee Injury
Posted by Matt Loede under Atlanta Falcons, Injuries

Injuries will happen, you just don’t like to see them this soon in minicamp and to a young player that needs to be on the field getting time. It happened today though, and it happened to one of the Falcons promising rookies – defensive tackle Peria Jerry.
Jerry was the Falcons first-round pick, 24th overall in the first round. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Jerry left the field under his own power after banging his knee with another player about halfway through Saturday’s morning practice.
“He got banged up,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said. “We don’t know anything about it. He bumped knees and we’ll know something by the end of the day. They took him in the training room to ice him. Those things are going to happen sometimes.”
