The NFL has announced the full slate of 2009 games intended to pay homage for the 50th season since the launch of the AFL.

The 16 games featuring the eight original AFL teams in throwback attire are as follows:

Sunday, August 9: Bills vs. Titans/Oilers.

Monday, September 14: Bills at Patriots; Chargers at Raiders.

Sunday, September 27: Titans/Oilers at Jets/Titans.

Sunday, October 11: Cowboys at Chiefs/Dallas Texans; Patriots at Broncos.

Sunday, October 18: Titans/Oilers at Patriots.

Monday, October 19: Broncos at Chargers.

Sunday, October 25: Chargers at Chiefs/Dallas Texans; Jets/Titans at Raiders.

Sunday, November 1: Dolphins at Jets/Titans.

Sunday, November 15: Bills at Titans/Oilers; Chiefs/Dallas Texans at Raiders.

Thursday, November 26: Raiders at Cowboys.

Sunday, November 29: Dolphins at Bills.

Sunday, December 6: Patriots at Dolphins.

The eight original AFL teams will be wearing the following throwback uniforms for these games.

Buffalo Bills: From their 1965 AFL Championship season, a white helmet with a stationary red buffalo.

Denver Broncos: From their 1960 season, a brown and yellow uniform with brown helmet.

Kansas City Chiefs (Dallas Texans): From their 1962 AFL Championship season, a red and white uniform with a red helmet featuring an outline of the state of Texas.

New England Patriots (Boston Patriots): From their 1963 divisional championship season, a white helmet featuring the original Patriot logo.

New York Jets (Titans of New York): From their 1961 season, gold and navy uniforms with a navy helmet.

Oakland Raiders: From their 1963 season, a white jersey with silver numbers outlined in black and a silver helmet with the original Raiders logo.

San Diego Chargers: From their 1963 AFL Championship season, white pants with a yellow lightning bolt down legs.

Tennessee Titans (Houston Oilers): From the 1960 season, a blue and white jersey with red accents and a blue helmet with the derrick logo.

    Why don’t the Oakland Raiders wear throwback uniforms from their AFL inaugural season of 1960? That would be black helmets without a logo, black jerseys with curved white numbers trimmed in yellow-gold and with sleeve stripes, and white pants. Of course this is “pre-Al Davis and Davis doesn’t recognize anything that happened in the Bay Area before he showed up.

    Pat Patriot (snapping the ball) was not the original Patriots’ logo. That would be a tri-cornered hat that nobody knew what it was.
