Former Colts Coach Dungy Meets with Michael Vick

If Michael Vick is going to get back in the league, he got some good advice today from former Colts and Bucs head coach Tony Dungy in the federal penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kansas, where the two had a private meeting. “It was a private meeting between Mike and coach Dungy and a positive meeting,” said Vick’s agent, Joel Segal.

Dungy is a high class person, and there was word for awhile that he was going to talk to Vick to gauge how remorseful he really was about the dogfighting charges that have landed him in a prision for 23 months. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has said that he won’t allow Vick back in the league unless he seems to be sorry for his actions.

“Where my heart is, is really with our young men right now,” Dungy said when he retired. “We have so many guys that didn’t grow up like me, didn’t have their dad there and that’s something I’m very, very interested in.” Dungy is the perfect man to talk to Vick – question now is will he take his advice and mean it.

“I am going out there to really talk about life. To talk about the Lord. I know he has made a profession that he has accepted the Lord into his life,” Dungy said. “Talk to him about what he’s going to face. Most people are going to be against him. He’s got to understand that.”
