The latest Braylon Edwards rumor has him going to the New York Jets, who need a top notch wide receiver, for running back Thomas Jones. The rumor has been bantered about today on various national talk shows, including Sirius NFL Radio, who said that if it went down, it would probably be Jones and a pick for Edwards.
No matter, it seems that the Edwards rumors are simply not going to die, and as usual, where’s there’s smoke – there’s fire, and you have to think that somehow, someway, Edwards is going to be moved. The Jets want a good wide out for new QB Mark Sanchez badly, and seem to be willing to part with a solid back like Jones to do it.
In getting Jones, he could come in right away and be a starter, or combine with Jamal Lewis and have a very good 1-2 punch for the Browns backfield. Would you do it? The Browns seem to have some interest, so we shall see if it happens.

that would be perfect! we have extra running backs in leon and the new rookie… so trading the nfl leading rusher for a top notch receiver makes alot of sense…. the only thing is, i wouldn’t give up a pick .. it would be a one for one trade..
its a good trade for both teams
ha ha ha braylon is an elite wr if they give us a 1 3 and jones maybe
Okay, and this brings us to today’s segment entitled, “REALLY?!”
REALLY? The Browns would give up a #1 wideout for a 30-year old running back? REALLY?!
The Browns — whose top three receivers without Edwards (Furrey, Patten, Robiskie) combined for less than 400 yards last year — would be cool with giving up Edwards for practically nothing? REALLY?!
While they’re at it, why don’t they trade Brady Quinn AND Derek Anderson for a 5th rounder?
C’mon, if this happened — there’d be a mutiny on Mangini’s hands…
Kyle, why would the Jets give up a #1 and #3 pick? Nobody was biting on that a couple of weeks ago. You want to throw in the leading rusher in the AFC last year also? For a guy that has all sorts of leg problems and a horrible attitude?
Straight up trade or I don’t want the whiny bum!
