The Cardinals got an official offer today for wide out Anquan Boldin, but the Arizona Republic reports that the offer was not close to what the team was looking for. “It didn’t come close to being something we would consider,” said GM Rod Graves. “We’ve had no other interest expressed.”
One team that suddenly seems to have great interest in Boldin are the Tennessee Titans, who also need a wide out. They grabbed free agent Nate Washington this offseason, but could use another prime-time player like Boldin, who right away would be the teams best wide receiver.
Boldin has been on the trading block for about a week, and while there have been no other offers, you can bet that things are going to pick up as the draft closes in on Saturday.
“It’s hard to say what teams will be willing to offer,” Graves said. “I’ll reiterate that we feel strongly about Anquan, what he means to our football team. We’re a strong football team with him and the probability of him remaining with us is pretty high.”
