The Chiefs have added what they feel will be another big piece to their defense, as they have signed a deal with veteran LB Zach Thomas. He turns 36 in December, but has made seven trips to the Pro Bowl in his 13 NFL seasons, and still can come in and be a part of a young defense that needs help in the linebacking spot.
Thomas landed in Dallas last season after playing his first 12 seasons with the Dolphins, and started 14 games for the Cowboys. Last season he had 94 tackles, 65 of which came solo. He’s the second veteran linebacker acquired by the Chiefs in recent weeks. He follows Mike Vrabel, who came in the trade with New England that also brought QB Matt Cassel.
