Buccaneers Make Kellen Winslow Jr. the NFL’s Highest Paid TE

Bucs tight end Kellen Winslow hit the mother load on Monday, as Tampa Bay made K2 the highest paid tight end in NFL history. Drew Rosenhaus, the agent for Winslow, said that the tight end agreed to a six-year deal worth $36.1 million, $20.1 of which is guaranteed.

Winslow came to the Bucs in a deal at the start of free agency from the Cleveland Browns. He was the sixth overall pick of the 2004 draft, and when he was able to make it on the field he showed signs of being a very good player, but injuries have always held him back.

He got hurt in a game in Dallas two games into his rookie season, then missed the entire 2005 season after he was riding his motorcycle in a parking lot and messed his knee up again. Last season with the Browns he caught 43 passes for 428 yards and three touchdowns.
