When it Comes to Bears Fans – What’s Important to You?
Posted by CJ under Bears Banter

I was listening to a radio sports show a few weeks ago and the people broadcasting were getting really upset that some people were calling in and saying that they didn’t want a TO or Boldin on the Bears. One of the broadcasters even started insulting what he described as the “typical Bears fan”.
He said mockingly,” We’re blue collard, Bears fans. We like great defense and to run the ball. We don’t want a franchise QB or a TO on our team. We’re just fine with our 9-7 record.” The reason I bring this up is that they made me question what I would like to see in the Bears.
I have always been a fan of the old school “smash mouth football”. It was always exciting for me to see our defense dominate the other team, watching viscous hits, and have WR’s pay for exposing ribs or going across the middle.
The thing I think is the biggest change for me is that I want to so the Bears with a stud #1 WR. Someone like Andre Johnson , Brandon Marshall , Larry Fitzgerald , Calvin Johnson , Marques Colston , or Randy Moss. A tall, big body, that can make plays and burn defenses.
Another change I would like to see is something on defense. They based the whole defense around DT pressure. That’s why they don’t go after a shut down CB, or a pro bowl safety. How about a DT that can play the run so the LB’s don’t have to crowd the line every down?
Realistically, what I think I’ll see is the OL improve enough that the QB and RB don’t have to run for their lives this season, the WR group should be better with another year and hopefully a high pick rookie and a better running game with better run blocking.
