Cardinals and QB Warner to Start Talking Contract
Posted by Matt Loede under 2009 Free Agency, Arizona Cardinals

There’s more talk today about Kurt Warner and his future before he could possibly reach free agency on February 27th. Seems like the Cards want to get a deal done so they don’t have to sweat it out if he hits the open market. Today’s Arizona Republic says that Warner and the Cards expect to start talking soon.
The agent for Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner expects to re-open contracts talks with the team soon, after Warner has had time to “take a deep breath” following a long season. “I think we’re going to start talking this week,” Mark Bartelstein said on Monday. “I want to talk to Kurt today or tomorrow. I think he wants to take a chance to take a deep breath. He really hasn’t had a chance to do that.”
Warner is the top QB on the market, with Kerry Collins of the Titans being the 2nd best QB that could hit the market once free agency starts.
