Robert, sorry to burst your bubble, but kindly return to the 21st century. Check the stats. Jauron is a losing coach in the NFL. He currently oversees the biggest assortment of wimps to ever be in Buffalo Bills uniforms, and consistently plays the part of a complete buffoon when making critical decisions. He may be "nice", but "nice" is by no means a substitute for achievement. Please, do Bills Nation a favor and talk him into resigning. Yale can have him back with our blessing. We don't even care for a Christmas card. ;-)

If a contract extension has been executed, then I'm happy for the Buffalo fans and for Dick Jauron! I had two chance meetings with him at Yale in the mid-1970s when he had earned kudos as an All-America Yale running back who was drafted by the Detroit Lions (football) and the St. Louis Cardinals (baseball). I saw Mr. Jauron rush for 183 yards and two touchdowns (including one 74 yard jaunt when he just outran everyone) against Harvard in 1972 in Harvard's backyard after Yale was down 17-0. Yale won 28-17. Inspired by Mr. Jauron, I wound up lettering in football and baseball too, but I was no Dick Jauron. He inspired me to be disciplined and one of the best-conditioned athletes on our Yale teams. Mr. Jauron won't "woof" or throw anyone under the bus. He's a class guy. From what I know about him personally and the reputation he developed for himself at Yale, he's always been that way. He'll take the blame, and he'll give all the credit to others! During my own professional career, I don't know many people who have embraced those attributes unequivocally. Listen to what his players at Buffalo and Chicago have said about him--he's a players' coach; he has earned their respect and trust as a leader. He's the kind of guy you'd like to have as your boss! The Bills have been "snake-bitten" this year, and the team's season has taken an unfortunate turn! If Mr. Jauron should ever leave the Bills, then we'd love to "reclaim him" at Yale as our head football coach. Dick Jauron is a gem and a winner!
