A key member of the New York Giants offense is out for Sunday night’s showdown with the Dallas Cowboys at Texas Stadium. Running back Brandon Jacobs is out for the contest, this due to the left knee injury that he first suffered a few weeks back, and then aggravated vs the Eagles in a home loss last Sunday.
“We just don’t think he will be ready,” coach Tom Coughlin said after practice today. Jacobs is the Giants leading rushed with 1,002 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns. He will be replaced in the starting lineup by Derrick Ward. Ahmad Bradshaw and second-year pro Danny Ware, who has never carried the ball in an NFL game, will back him up.
