
With Daunte Culpepper doubtful for the Colts game, the Detroit News is reporting that an old friend could be back under center Sunday – that of Dan Orlovsky. Lions coach Rod Marinelli said yesterday that Culpepper is “more doubtful than probable” to play in the contest, meaning the team will again go back to Orlovsky as the Lions try to get their first win.
The reason that Culpepper was brought in was due to a thumb injury that Orlovsky suffered a while back. Orlovsky did try and practice last week but could not, saying that there was pain and swelling in the thumb Also of concern is how the thumb will handle the punishment taking snaps and on handoffs.
