Giants star linebacker Antonio Pierce says he “has not been arrested and doesn’t plan on being arrested” for his role in the Plaxico Burress shooting matter. Speaking to Sports Radio 66 WFAN/New York, Pierce says he wants the city of New York and Giants fans to support Burress. Pierce calls the matter a “tragic accidental situation” and that people should “not believe everything you hear.”
Pierce told WFAN’s Mike Francesa he has hired a lawyer and that he could not discuss the details of the investigation. Pierce was with Burress at the Latin Quarter club in Manhattan Friday night when Burress accidentally shot himself. There have been several reports that Pierce was involved in hiding the gun after the incident.
