In an update to this story Ryan Leaf has resigned from both of his coaching jobs at West Texas A&M. The school made the announcement Thursday.
“Coach Leaf offered his resignation this morning, which I accepted,” WTAMU athletic director Michael McBroom said. “He does not want his personal issues to become a distraction to the players that he has coached for the past three seasons.
“I wish Ryan all the success in the world. He’s been a part of our family for the past three years and it’s always hard to lose a member of your family. But we will move on and so will Ryan Leaf.”

Ryan Leaf is a kook and always will be no matter where he is or what he is doing. He is a punk ass that will never grow up. It puts a smile on my face everytime I see him take 1 step forward and 5 steps back.
it seems like people assume this guy is going to screw up before it actually happens
Tim,
Something you need to remember. People have proven through the centuries that they are not perfect. In fact if you step back and count there are more people that did not make it in the NFL than did. This also applies in life, most successful people have failed numerous times. It may take Ryan decades to figure out he needs to change his decision making process but when he does, and has some sucess at something I’m sure you will have something negative to say.
