Saints CB Porter Dislocates Wrist; Done for the Season
Posted by Matt Loede under Injuries, New Orleans Saints

Losing like they did to the Vikings wasn’t the only blow to the Saints Monday night. The team also lost CB Tracey Porter for the season after dislocating his right wrist during the loss. Porter had surgery today on the wrist, and was placed on IR, meaning his season is over. “I don’t want to speculate, but I know the procedure went well,” coach Sean Payton said. “It required surgery to get it back in place, which is not good.”
The injury for Porter took place when he went to defend a desperation throw by Gus Frerotte that ended up going to WR Bernard Berrian for a TD that tied the game at 27. The Vikings would go on to win a few minutes later 30-27 when Ryan Longwell kicked a chip-shot field goal after the Siants missed a field goal of their own.
Porter was the Saints second-round draft pick in 07, and won the starting job in training camp. Through the first five games of the season, he’s been credited with 25 tackles, including a sack, to go with one interception and five passes defended.
