Seahawks Grab WR’s Colbert and Robinson to Help Beat Up WR Core

With a WR core that is as banged up as any in the league, the Seattle SeaHawks made moves Tuesday to try and get some pass catchers in – and fast.  First the team made a deal with Denver for WR Kerry Colbert for a late-round draft pick, then brought back to the team WR Koren Robinson.

He was a former first-round draft pick that was let go by the team for off the field issues.  “Just because of the terms and circumstances I left Seattle on, I never thought I’d be back,” Robinson said on a conference call. “I’m grateful for this chance. I think it can be a good story—for me and the team.”

As of right now the Hawks have lost a whopping six WR’s this season, and are hoping that Colbert and Robinson can learn their West coast offense quickly – beacuse the team is likely going to need them on Sunday vs the Rams.  For Colbert, it gives him a shot to actually play, as the 26-year-old has not caught a pass in two games with the Broncos after signing a three-year deal in March.  Colbert caught 32 passes in 12 games for Carolina in 2007.
