A Freakin,’ Flukin,’ Mistaken Dallas Cowboy Tragedy
Posted by Martin Alvin under Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Off the Cuff

Who says sports TV isn’t educational? Today, on ESPN-2’s First Take, I finally found out how the Giants really did it 2007. It was NOT their resiliency, hard work, toughness and skill but, instead; it was A Freakin,’ Flukin,’ Mistaken Dallas Cowboy Tragedy. Yeah, honest! Lucky for me I was watching. And, the panel assured me, it won’t happen again. After all, that would be like getting struck by lightning twice. Very rare. They virtually guaranteed the Cowboys winning the NFC East, the NFC and maybe even the Super Bowl.
The distinguished panel, Sage Steele, Doug Stewart, Ryan Stewart and Skip Bayless pointed out that the Cowboys really should have won it all last year because they were — and still are — much more talented than the Giants. Plus, Jerry Jones is a great owner. Plus, Patrick Crayton had a bad game because Terry Glenn was retarding his progress as a receiver. Plus, Tony Romo is ready to take that next big step. According to Ryan Stewart, et al, they simply suffered a tragedy that day. Yeah, that’s right, a tragedy. They didn’t fold. They didn’t come up short. They didn’t get their asses handed to them. No, they were just standing there, minding their own extremely talented business and along came the freaky, fluky Giants and then wham — a tragedy! Friggin’ tragic, huh?
Now, as you may recall, Trey Wingo — sometimes known as Trey Wrongo — says the Giants were freaky and their season was a fluke. Today, we learn the Dallas loss was simply a tragedy — kind of like the Titanic, huh? In addition, Skip Bayless insists — to this day — that Coughlin made a terrible mistake playing his starters against the Patriots in the last game of the regular season. So, put all that information together and what do you have? A Freakin,’ Flukin,’ Mistaken Dallas Cowboy Tragedy, right? Boy, I’m telling you, sports TV is educational as hell.

Are you Giants fans still pulling the Rodney Dangerfield card?
