Will Chiefs Fans Take This Sitting Down?

The Chiefs have recently implemented a “code of conduct” for the sea of red. Stating excessive standing and or obstructing the view of other fans is prohibited.. I get what they are trying to do. They are trying to get the annoying fan who stands during commercial breaks in the first quarter to sit down. But the Chiefs are walking on thin ice with their fans coming off a 4-12 season.. The sellout streak at Arrowhead is in danger of coming to a end this season and they are still under construction. Not to say Arrowhead is a eye sore but it is not the prettiest state of the art stadium right now.

There have been rumors on blogs and message boards that a text messaging system to tell on standing fans would be set up. One would think Carl Peterson would be busy not signing draft picks and proposing hair length rules to the NFL competition committee to come up with such a policy. He found time that is why they call him the “King”. This is a slippery slope how much standing is to much isn’t that more of a opinion that would change from one fan to the next?

For the most part this will be a non issue by week 2. The problem is where the brain trust at One Arrowhead Drive head is at. The one piece of legacy Carl still has in tact is the sellout streak. He should be coming up with fan friendly ideas like free jerseys to the first 20,000 or free hotdogs with season tickets but instead he has the audacity to tell fans how much to stand during games when he does not have a winning product on the field . Us Chiefs fans should do a “stand-in” for the home opener where all fans stand the whole game. What would they do? Kick everyone out? The atmosphere that is one of the best if not the best in the NFL will be regulated by nobody especially a suit watching from a luxury suite.
