Simms Will Have Interest on the Market if Bucs Let Him Go
Posted by Matt Loede under Chicago Bears, Oakland Raiders, St. Louis Rams, Tampa Bay Bucs

ESPN’s John Clayton is reporting in his blog today on ESPN.com that Bucs QB Chris Simms is going to get some interest on the market if he is the next Tampa Bay QB to be let go. Earlier this week Tampa Bay dumped Bruce Gradkowski, and he was picked up off waivers yesterday by the Rams, despite the fact that the Raiders and Bears also put in bids, but the Rams got him since they had the worst record of the three teams.
As far as Simms goes, if he can be healthy, he can help a team somewhere and could be a solid backup. The Raiders and Bears will for sure have interest, and there likely would be a few other teams that wouldn’t mind taking a look at Simms. Right now the Bears with Kyle Orton and Rex Grossman will look at every name QB that is available. As for the Raiders, they would like to have a decent backup for 2nd-year QB JaMarcus Russell, and if Simms is out there, he would fit that position well.
