Cowboys and Fins Make Deal for LB Ayodele and TE Fasano
Posted by Matt Loede under 2008 NFL Draft, Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins

The first pre-draft deal has been done, as the Cowboys and former Cowboy coach Bill Parcells, now with the Dolphins, have come to terms on a deal. The move will take linebacker Akin Ayodele and tight end Anthony Fasano and move them from the Cowboys to the Dolphins. In return, the Cowboys get a fourth-round draft pick. The pick is the number 100 overall.
Miami is not exactly void of picks, as they have eight overall, so moving this fourth pick to the Cowboys for two players that will for sure make the team and could even have an impact, is not exactly a bad deal. Ayodele was a starter for the Cowboys for the past five seasons, last season making 55 tackles. His spot will now go to former Dolphin Zach Thomas, who was picked up after being released in February.
Fasano had 14 catches last season for Dallas, and was a second-round pick in 2006. I can see him competiting for a starting job with Miami.
