DT Robertson Still Out There; Visited with Philly
Posted by Matt Loede under New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles
While the New York Jets are still in possession of defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson, the Eagles are a team that took a look at the former first-round draft pick last month. The Philadelphia Inquirer confirmed that the Eagles had Robertson in for a series of medical exams, but that right now signing him appears to be a “long shot” considering the visit took place some time ago.
Robertson has been the topic of numerous trade talks with teams such as the Broncos, Bengals, Lions and now Eagles, yet a deal to move him from the Jets elsewhere still is up in the air. He has been a bust for New York, and with the system of defense they play he simply does not fit. Look for him to be dangled again as we get closer to draft day and possibly to find a new home on draft day.
