Kevin Everett

After being nearly paralyzed last September and making a miraculous recovery Kevin Everett had minor surgery to relieve pain in his neck.

Everett was in Buffalo to announce plans for hisgolf tournament and tailgate party scheduled for early July to benefit his newly established foundation to advance spinal cord injury research. Unfortunately that press conference didn’t happen because Everett’s surgery was originally scheduled for Tuesday but got pushed back to Monday forcing him to cancel the announcement.

The Kevin Everett Golf Classic and 12th Man Tailgate Party will take place July 6 and 7 at Brierwood Country Club in Hamburg.

“He’s doing OK,” Eric Armstead said Wednesday. Armstead is an attorney and associate of Everett’s agent, Brian Overstreet.

WIVB-TV is reporting that Orthopedic surgeon Andrew Cappuccino who has treated Everett since his injury called the procedure “a very minor procedure”.

“Over the course of the last few months, the parts below his injured area, just one level, became loose and needed a very minor procedure to shore them up, to make them stable so he wouldn’t have neck pain,” Cappuccino said.
