In what was expected not somuch as if but when it would happen, the Carolina Panthers on Monday released often-injured linebacker Dan Morgan and guard Dan Wahle in what is more than likely the first of many roster changes for the team. Morgan was the Panthers’ first-round pick in 2001, but played in only 59 of 112 games with the team due to numerous injuries, including at least 5 concussions. He missed the final 13 games of last season with a partially torn right Achilles’ tendon. Wahle started all 16 games for the Panthers last season at right guard; Wahle’s release, much like Morgan’s, was intended to provide salary cap relief.
