New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, already a well-paid quarterback in his own right, enriched himself monetarily this offseason. According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network and verified by Liz Mullen of Sports Business Journal, Manning earned an additional $1.5 million in incentives based on victories at the various levels of the playoffs.
Manning made $250,000 for winning at the wild-card level, $500,000 at the divisional level, $250,000 for the conference title and $500,000 for the Super Bowl; these incentives were built into Manning’s rookie contract. The money in question here will count aginst the Giants’ salary cap, inceidentally.
