Browns To Give Crennel Extension
Posted by Stephen Rhodes under Cleveland Browns, Off The Field News

Give Cleveland Browns general manager Phil Savage his props; he is getting his key personnel (including non-players) signed in a timely fashion. According to a report by the Cleveland Plain Dealer, team head coach Romeo Crennel has agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension, which will keep Crennel in Cleveland until 2011. The extension is worth around $4 million per year.
Crennel began the season amid speculation that he might be fired, by having gone 10-22 his first 2 seasons with the Browns. But the Browns overachieved as they exceeded expectations and went 10-6 and just missed the playoffs; at the end of the season, Savage indicated that he wanted to extend Crennel’s contract - which he did. Good job, Phil. Now you can turn your attention to retaining Jamal Lewis as your featured running back.
