I used the Patriots performance against the Ravens in my column last week as an analogy, for my own mediocre week 12 predicts when I went 8-6. The Pats bounced back strong last week, as did my predictions going 11-3 almost assuredly clinching a winning season for my column. Now onto Week Fifteen in the NFL.
WEEK FOURTEEN RECORD: 11-3
SEASON RECORD: 125-77
WEEK FIFTEEN PICKS:
SATURDAY NIGHT GAME
Cincinnati @ San Francisco: San Francisco 17 Cincinnati 14: I get stubborn sometimes this one of those times. Kind of like how I was with Atlanta around the middle of the season. San Francisco QB Shaun Hill gets a win in his first NFL start.
SUNDAY GAMES
Seattle @ Carolina: Seattle 28 Carolina 10: Seattle tuning up for the playoffs as they cliched Division last week. Panthers just playing out the string.
Buffalo @ Cleveland: Cleveland 27 Buffalo 24: Do I really have to predict this game? These two teams are the two toughest teams to get a handle on this year, when you think they will win they lose, and you know the rest. Only because it is in Cleveland am I giving the nod to the Browns.
Tennessee @ Kansas City: Kansas City 17 Tennessee 10: Both of these teams were humiliated last week. The Chiefs got knocked for a loop by Denver, while the Titans blew a 2 TD lead in the fourth quarter over San Diego. I believe a blowout is easier to recover from than a heartbreaker, hence my pick.
Baltimore @ Miami: Baltimore 17 Miami 13: Not yet Dolphins, soon but not yet.
N.Y. Jets @ New England: New England 52 N.Y. Jets 9: You thought Bill ran it up against Washington, “you ain’t seen nothing yet“
Arizona @ New Orleans: New Orleans 21 Arizona 17: Ken Whisenhunt has Arizona starting to actually look like a NFL team this year. How bizarre is it that the Saints could end up in the playoffs after their horrific start?
Jacksonville @ Pittsburgh: Pittsburgh 24 Jacksonville 14: Last week was a measuring stick for Pittsburgh, and they saw they do not measure up right now with New England. Then again, I don’t know if the 1985 Bears could have contained the Patriots last week. Pittsburgh is still the second or third best team in the AFC. J-Ville is the next level down.
Green Bay @ ST. Louis: Green Bay 28 ST. Louis 13: Marc Bulger may be back as QB for Rams but it does not matter. Green Bay is in the zone right now.
Atlanta @ Tampa Bay: Tampa Bay 21 Atlanta 9: Bucs let me down last week, but Houston is playing tough right now. They beat Denver Thursday night. Atlanta is a different story.
Indianapolis @ Oakland: Indianapolis 38 Oakland 10: This will be a contest in name only.
Dallas @ Philadelphia: Dallas 41 Philadelphia 17: Wade Phillips, I am almost ready to say I was wrong about you.
Detroit @ San Diego: San Diego 21 Detroit 9: Lions gave the Cowboys all they could handle last week. I say there is nothing left in the tank for this game.
Washington @ N.Y. Giants: NY Giants 24 Washington 13: Giants can clinch a wild card spot with a win, I admitted a few weeks ago I was wrong about Tom Coughlin.
MONDAY NIGHT GAME
Chicago @ Minnesota: Minnesota 21 Chicago 14: Here is another game that must have looked so promising to ESPN when the schedule came out, that probably has them contemplating re-running their special from last week on the ESPN Promos instead of the game.

85 BEARS > Pats Offense!!!
Russ
BEARS DEFENSE Would make Brady hurry, pressure throws, and panic with the blitzes and pass rush they had in 85!
