My Picks the last couple of weeks have kind of mirrored the play of the New England Patriots. I have been just good enough the last two weeks to walk away with wins. Like New England also, I had built up such a good early season, that I have 40 more wins than losses. Now although, with four games to go, I could have a losing season record wise, I would pretty much need a total collapse, which I don’t see happening, for New England or Me! Well now onto Week Fourteen in the NFL
WEEK THIRTEEN RECORD: 9-6
SEASON RECORD: 114-74
WEEK FOURTEEN PICKS:
ST. Louis @ Cincinnati: ST. Louis 24 Cincinnati 21: What ever happened to Carson Palmer, and who was that guy wearing his uniform in that game against Pittsburgh last week. Before Palmer got hurt in the playoffs a couple years back, he looked like he was on his way to a stellar NFL career. Of course at that point Marvin Lewis looked like a genius also, a term you no longer hear associated with his name. Rams have won 3 out of last 4, I’m going with the hot hand.
Dallas @ Detroit: Dallas 42 Detroit 17: Dallas goes on to clinch their NFC East Title, the last time they accomplished it was 1998. Which reminds me, exactly why is Dallas in the NFC East?
Oakland @ Green Bay: Green Bay 28 Oakland 7: Sports Illustrated’s Sportsman of the Year clinches the NFC North
Tampa Bay @ Houston: Tampa Bay 24 Houston 14: Jeff Garcia has done a very nice job with the Bucs this season. Houston burned me last week, will not go with them this week.
Carolina @ Jacksonville: Jacksonville 28 Carolina 10: J-Ville played the Colts last week, Panthers snapped five game skid last week but that was against the 49ers. They can’t hang with these guys.
NY Giants @ Philadelphia: NY Giants 21 Philadelphia 17: I figure I owe Tom Coughlin one since I gave him such disrespect early this season.
San Diego @ Tennessee: San Diego 28 Tennessee 27: I can not believe I am picking a team coached by Norv Turner, over one coached by Jeff Fisher. LT, you better not let me down!
Minnesota @ San Francisco: Minnesota 17 San Francisco 9: Went with the Niners over Carolina last week, and ended up with those Bay Area Blues. Purple Haze this week.
Arizona @ Seattle: Seattle 28 Arizona 17: My heart wants to go with the Cardinals, but every time I have gone against Seattle this year they have proved me wrong. I still don’t think they are as talented as their record indicates.
Kansas City @ Denver: Denver 17 Kansas City 14: A couple of seasons ago this would have been a good game….A couple of seasons ago is far away from today
Cleveland @ NY Jets: NY Jets 21 Cleveland 14: Cleveland is another team that burned me last week, Mangini’s magic returns for the week as he takes on old friend Romeo Crennel.
Pittsburgh @ New England: New England 28 Pittsburgh 21: This will not be the week Brady and Company lose
Indianapolis @ Baltimore: Indianapolis 24 Baltimore 9: Ravens had their chance last week, lack of discipline will kill you every time.
MONDAY NIGHT GAME
New Orleans @ Atlanta: New Orleans 17 Atlanta 13: ESPN must have been salivating when they saw this game on the schedule originally. Of course Michael Vick was still with Atlanta, and the Saints had not shown that they would turn into the 2006 Cincinnati Bengals.
