Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson injures his ankle as a Denver defenseman rolls on it in the first half of the Denver Broncos-Chicago Bears game, played on Sunday.
The Chicago Bears are on a roll at the moment as they’re fresh off a victory of the Denver Broncos on Sunday. But the win came at a heavy price; starting running back Cedric Benson, after ripping up a 21-yard run, suffered a severe ankle injury. According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times, it is highly probable that Benson will miss the remainder of the season.

But officially, according to Bears head coach Lovie Smith, he called it a “pretty good ankle injury”. Assuming the worse-case scenario, expect reserve RB Adrian Peterson to take over Benson’s role and Garrett Wolfe to be Peterson’s backup.
