NFL Network to test new technology Thursday
Posted by Stephen Rhodes under NFL

You can’t accuse the NFL Network of not being creative at all. According to Michael Hiestand of USA TODAY, the network will use for the first time, during the Indianapolis Colts-Atlanta Falcons game on Thanksgiving Day, “still-photography”. The purpose of this technology is to zoom in on specific details, such as whether a receiver’s foot is inbounds on a catch, or if a running back made a first down on a rushing attempt, etc.
NFL Network coordinating producer Mark Loomis told USA TODAY, “We might be able to get it on as quick as 30 seconds. I know we can do it in a minute.” While this is innovative to a degree, what it seems to do is allow you, the viewer, to “be a replay official”. Clever, for sure. Whether it becomes popular over time is hard to say right now. For the purist, it probably will not be popular. For those of you who welcome the new technology, this should be right up your alley. As for myself, I have no comment – at least until I watch the game Thursday.

I hate Time Warner! I am going to DirecTV soon, why? Cause TW does not have the NFL network!! Bitches.
