Dolphins Bring Williams Back; May Play November 26th
Posted by Matt Loede under Miami Dolphins
Call it being desperate, or maybe they just feel sorry for the guy. Whatever the case may be, the Miami Dolphins have decided once again to give running back Ricky Williams a chance, announcing today that he will rejoin the team this Monday. Williams was allowed to rejoin the team after the NFL lifted his 1 and 1/2 year suspension on Wednesday. The Dolphins clearly need the help on offense right now, as they lost feature back Ronnie Brown for the season about a month ago, and despite a 100+ yard game Sunday from Jesse Chatman, Williams could give the team a boost on offense.
As far as long term, I would doubt to see Williams in a Fins uniform after this season. Brown should be back as the starting running back next year, and with this year already lost for the Dolphins, they probably feel like they have nothing to lose with bringing Williams back. “Circumstances have changed,” Cameron said. “However, you still rely on the leadership of your locker room and quality professionals like we have, and you get their input, and that was the major part of the decision.”
Williams may play on Monday night, November 26th when the Fins travel to Pittsburgh to take on the 7-2 Steelers. At 30 years old, this for sure will be a time for him to prove himself, and if he is not able to hang on to a roster spot in Miami, some team will be foolish enough to trust him enough to give him a shot at a backup role in 2008.

Oh sure, the league doesn’t want felons, troublemakers and gangsters … but we’ll make an exception if you can run over 100 yards a game.
What an inspiring story! A fella can flout all his employer’s rules several times and still earn millions. Pay attention kids …
Oh, and maybe you can score some of whatever the Miami Dolphins’ front-office is smoking!
I won’t waste any more of your bandwidth. I blogged more about this at The Bayou
