McNabb, Westbrook rally Eagles past Redskins 33-25
Posted by Stephen Rhodes under Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins

The Philadelphia Eagles, believe it or not, are hanging onto their paper-thin hopes of grabbing a wild-card spot; Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb threw a late touchdown pass to running back Brian Westbrook, which enabled Philadelphia to hold on and defeat the Washington Redskins 33-25 at FedEx Field.
With the Eagles behind 22-13 in the fourth quarter, McNabb started an Eagles rally by throwing a deep pass to wide receiver Reggie Brown. Apparently a mixup in coverage, contributed to by Redskins linebacker London Fletcher falling down and safety Pierson Prioleau getting turned around, allowed Brown to grab the ball and go in for the score, making the score 22-20 Washington. After some conservative playcalling by Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs which led to a field goal by Washington kicker Shaun Suisham, Philadelphia got the ball back for what would turn out to be the game-winning drive.
McNabb had a an excellent game, going 20-of-28 for 251 yards and 4 touchdown passes. The aforementioned Westbrook rushed for 100 yards and a score, while also leading all Eagles receivers with 83 receiving yards and a TD. Brown and tight end L.J. Smith also scored, as well. Washington got a decent effort by QB Jason Campbell; he went 23-for-34 for 215 yards and 3 TD’s. RB Clinton Portis added 30 rushes for 137 yards, while WR James Thrash caught 5 balls for 85 yards and 2 TD’s; recently signed WR Keenan McCardell also added a TD along with 33 receiving yards.
Philadelphia (4-5) fly back home to face the winless Miami Dolphins next Sunday, while Washington (5-4) travels to Dallas to take on the NFC East leading Cowboys, also on sunday afternoon.
