Week 1 Preview, Miami at Washington
Posted by Stephen Rhodes under Miami Dolphins, Washington Redskins
This will be an interesting game to watch as both teams are a case study in dysfunction. The things to look for in this game (few of them pretty):
The Washington Redskins’ running game. Which Clinton Portis will show up? I couldn’t tell you that, but I expect around 16-18 carries and 60-65 yards for the Skins’ running back. That’s where RB Ladell Betts comes in. He will succeed where Portis doesn’t, meaning around 13-17 carries and 80-85 yards and a touchdown. And I like Redskins QB Jason Campbell’s chances against (at least in my opinion) an inferior Dolphins’ secondary. Look for around 220-230 yards passing with a TD.
The Miami Dolphins passing game. I don’t have a good feeling about Trent Green’s chances against the Redskins’ defensive line. I’m thinking 5 sacks by the Skins’ defensive lineman today which means Green sees the ground often. RB Ronnie Brown should do well vs. the Skins’ run defense; expect around 90-95 yards and a score. Probably the lone bright spot for the Dolphnis in what will otherwise be a decisive victory for the Redskins.
