Co-Defendant in Vick Case a Rat?

Tony Taylor, one of the three men charged along with Michael Vick in the federal dogfighting conspiracy case, hasVick apparently decided to accept a plea bargain. A plea agreement hearing is set for Monday, July 30th at 9:00am for Taylor. Taylor is alleged to have discovered the Surry County property bought by Vick, and to have utilized it as the site of the illegal dogfighting operation known as “Bad Newz Kennels.” He is also accused of assisting in the purchase of pit bulls for the purpose of fighting and even killing two dogs that were deemed unsuitable to fight.

This could be devastating news for Vick and his defense team. If Taylor accepts a plea agreement he will probably become a “rat” and testify against Vick at trial. Plea agreements in cases like this often require the defendant who accepts the plea agreement to testify against other defendants in the case. At this point it is unknown what the plea agreement will involve. It could have Taylor spilling his guts to the feds and telling them everything, or he might just plead guilty for a lesser sentence. Either way it appears Vick is in loads of trouble.

    Perhaps Mr. Taylor isn’t a “rat” at all, but rather cannot bear the thought of living another four months of lies… perhaps he does want a speedy trial… perhaps he wants to redeem himself and wash himself from this horror. Regardless, the light continues to shine brighter and brighter on the atrocities of dog fighting and such things cannot survive the light of truth.

    Perhaps nothing. Of course he’s a rat. He claims he was living with and training the dogs for three years so why get all righteous now? Rats will do anything to survive.

    As a man you enter into certain things knowing the outcome. You have to live with the outcome of those situations. Telling on others who may or may not have had anything to do with it is not redemtion. It is not accepting responsibility for what he has done as a man. Dogfighting is wrong i agree, but there is no light in what Mr. Taylor is doing. He is a RAT and will always be
