Alexander Tells Media His Foot is Good to Go For 2007
Posted by Matt Loede under NFL, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander put to rest on Wednesday the status of
his left foot. Take note football fans – it’s all good. Alexander held court on Wednesday at a Seahawks minicamp, and told members of the press that his left foot, which had a crack last season that forced him to miss games, was good to go. “I didn’t think it was too big until my grandma called. Then I said, ‘I guess I need to tell everybody I am OK,”‘ Alexander said. “I am good. Grandma, I am good.”
This coming from the back who said last month that there still may be a crack in the foot. He told the press during a May minicamp with the Hawks that he may be getting another round of X-rays to see if it is still cracked. The foot is all good according to the Seahawks doctors, who gave him full clearance to participate in preseason drills. The former NFL leading rusher has been on the practice field participating in all mandatory workouts.
Alexander rushed for 896 yards last season, averaging 3.6 yards per carry in 10 games. He came back and rushed for 177 yards in the Hawks two playoff games, at that point with a crack still in the foot according to Alexander. The 2005 NFL MVP shared his sense of humor with the media on Wednesday, putting all at ease letting them know not to fret, he’ll be on the field 100 percent come opening day.
