Green a Better Fit With Falcons Than Dolphins
Posted by Jim Dubenetzky under Miami Dolphins, NFL
The Falcons might be in a jam if charges are filed against Michael Vick for dog fighting. They traded back up quarterback Matt Schaub to the Texans. Joey Harrington and D.J. Shockley are currently the back up quarterbacks on the Atlanta roster. Neither of those players have
proven themselves to be a winning starting quarterback in the NFL. Trent Green however has proven himself. With the Dolphins and Chiefs unable to reach a deal for the veteran quarterback, it is possible for Atlanta to sneak in and get a deal done. Green’s agent though, says he has not heard from the Falcons.
Matt Schaub played quite a bit when Vick was injured and unable to play. Vick is a rather injury prone player and the Falcons need to plan for that to continue. Throw in the fact that Vick might be facing a suspension if charges are filed against him and there is a good possibility that Atlanta’s back up quarterback will see some playing time this season. Trent Green would fill that role much better than Joey Harrington would.
