The career of former Chargers and current Dolphins Linebacker Junior Seau came to an end on Monday when the soon-to-be Hall of Famer announced his retirement. I always had a lot of respect for Seau, and thought that the defining moment of his career was when the Chargers upset the Steelers in 1994 in the AFC title game in Pittsburgh. I recall Seau having so much energy that afternoon, flying all over the field and making tackle after tackle. He was a huge reason as to why that Chargers team, which started 1-4, went 11-5 and eventually made it to the big dance. Sure his play fell off over the last few years, but I think when it is all said and done, he deserves a bust in Canton. 13 seasons, 12 Pro Bowls – I don’t think the livewire LB was ever given the credit he deserved.
Junior Says “Good-Bye”
